NHS Athens – Medline and PsycINFO database changes
From April 1st 2015 these databases will be
provided by a new supplier and saved searches and alerts will NOT be carried
over. You will need to save your settings now and manually enter them
again when the new databases are fully available from July 2015. Between
April and July both databases will be available to search on HDAS but with
reduced fields and features. Full instructions are available here.
In addition, from April 1st 2015 two new
collections will be available:
Proquest Hospital Collection – 4,500 fulltext health
and medical journals, plus videos and dissertations
PsycARTICLES – fulltext to over 100 journals in the
behavioural sciences.

24hour access is still available at our Redditch and Worcester sites, just

We hope to be able to return to our usual hours at a later
date and apologise for any inconvenience caused. There may also be a slight delay in our
turnaround of literature searches and document supply while we continue to
support the Trust with savings initiatives.

Dynamed provides summaries of the latest evidence on a wide range of clinical topics. The new app is easier to install and use with our Acute Trust-wide subscription:
• Access all content offline
• Write and save notes about particular topics
• Available on up to 3 devices

Downloading the app is easy!
1. Access DynaMed from the Clinical Systems page of the Acute Trust Intranet.
2. Click on the Mobile link on the top menu bar of Dynamed and enter your email address. An authentication key will be emailed to you.
3. Download the free DynaMed App from the iTunes Store or Google Play.
4. Open the email from your mobile device.
5. Within 48 hours, tap on the link in the email to authenticate the app and download content.
6. Dynamed content is updated regularly via update notifications.
Six Book Challenge 2015

Would you like to get into the reading habit or improve your reading?
The Six Book Challenge is back! After another successful year, the Worcestershire Health Libraries are running the Reading Agency’s Six Book Challenge again. The Challenge invites you to pick six reads and record your reading in a diary in order to get a certificate and the chance to enter both a national prize draw to win a trip to London or Kobo e-readers as well as local prize draws.
You can read anything you like in print or online - books, magazine articles, websites, whatever suits you.
To get you started, Worcestershire public libraries have loaned a community collection of titles to the health libraries at Kidderminster, Redditch & Worcester Hospitals.
Just pop into your local health library to sign up and away you go.

Worcestershire Health Libraries are pleased to inform you that our Acute Trust-wide subscription to UpToDate has been renewed until Dec 2015. Our subscription to Dynamed is also still active giving you access to two of the leading sources of continuously updated clinical evidence.
Access both UpToDate and Dynamed from the Clinical Systems page of the Acute Trust Intranet (no login required) or with your Athens account for offsite/mobile access.
If you haven’t already tried UpToDate and/or Dynamed to answer your clinical queries and help you keep up to date with the latest research please take a look.
